Blog 6: English Language Challenges

Hi everyone! today I am going to talk about my experience with the english classes in the university.
In first place I have to say that luckily I had some knowledge of english for my school and interests that I used to had so it was not so difficult to me and I could have a good experience. I think the blogs were a good learning tool to practice my writing, but is true that I am a little distracted so it is difficult for me do homework for every week, specially when we didn't have face to face classes. But when we do the blog in classes there is no problem.
I thik the things that I have to improve is talking , it is something that is too hard for me because when I am trying to talk I forget all the grammar rules and I need more vocabulary.
It is also complicated because when I try to talk outside of classes I feel too embarrassed of saying something wrong or have a bad pronunciation so I never practice.
Other thing that sometimes is difficult to me is to understand when some people talks too fast or say words that I didn't know.
I think talking in classes is a good way to improve my talking skills, and who knows, maybe one day I won't feel embararrassed to talk with other people.
To undarstand what other peole is talking about I think a good way to improve that skill is watching movies in english.
Outside of classes I don't use English so much I always talk in Spanish, but in my daily life I have the habit of listen music in english, see some youtubers in English and some movies that I watched so many times like Harry Potter.

  1. Hi Francisca! I feel embarrassed too when I´m talking English haha, but I have to say that the classes were really helpful in that way, specially when we had to have conversations with classmates, so we can help each other with vocabulary or grammar :)

  5. Hi Francisca! I feel you. I want to say two things to you. First of all, I can understand you! Is very embarrassing talking in another idiom, but maybe talking nonsense is the key for you expressing better! A group of friends talking in that idiom, without thinking in rules or grammar, or even make up new words, eventually help us! Or at least that's how I do it. Second of it, I want to explain something that happens on class. When I met you, you say you was "Fran" and I say, oh! You are Fran 2 (II)! And that was a misunderstanding, because I think thats your name on Instagram! XD And I searched you, and I noticed I mix-up names. I'm sorry, I wish that don't make you feel bad in that moment (I didn't want to make you feel like a minor role), or maybe you don't even remember that, but I can't get that off my mind. I'm happy I finally can explain it to you, even if it's late. Thanks for everything also! And sorry!, I wish we could know more each other!
